European Chamber Delegation to Jinan Explores Opportunities and Challenges Brought by Transition from Old to New Drivers of Growth

On 14th to 15th October, European Chamber vice president (VP) Guido Giacconi led a business delegation to Jinan to explore the opportunities and challenges brought by the transition from old to new drivers of growth. The delegation—composed of more than 20 Chamber representatives, including chairs, vice chairs and core members of the environment, energy, carbon market and insurance working groups, and Advisory Council members—participated in a series of meetings with the Shandong Provincial Government and Jinan Municipal Government.

On behalf of the European Chamber, VP Giacconi presented the European Business in China Position Paper 2021/2022 to, Shandong Department of Commerce deputy director general Mr Cui Hongguang and Jinan mayor Mr Sun Shutao.

VP Giacconi also introduced the European Chamber’s Shandong Initiative and provided constructive suggestions on EU-China cooperation. He explained that European Chamber members are actively seeking ways to be involved in Shandong’s industrial upgrading process, and working group representatives addressed the key issues and concerns from their industries.

Nearly 20 industry experts from the Chamber’s Healthcare Equipment Working Group also visited Jinan on 14th October to participate in a working roundtable with the Shandong Department of Commerce, Healthcare Security Administration and Health Committee of Shandong Province.

The Shandong Government expressed their appreciation to the Chamber delegation, with the expectation that a mechanism to facilitate government-industry exchanges will be established with the European Chamber.

中国欧盟商会代表团赴济南考察交流探索新旧动能转换的机遇与挑战

10月14日至15日，中国欧盟商会副主席贾可尼率企业代表团赴济南开展了为期两天的考察交流，就“聚焦新旧动能转换的机遇与挑战”与山东省政府及济南市政府进行了一系列的会谈。代表团由环境、能源、碳市场、保险等工作组主席、副主席和核心成员、以及顾问委员会代表等二十余人组成。贾可尼代表中国欧盟商会向山东省商务厅崔洪光副厅长及济南市孙述涛市长呈递了《欧盟企业在中国建议书2021/2022》。

贾可尼详细介绍了中国欧盟商会在中国，特别是在山东市场的发展概况，同时针对中欧合作等方面提出建议。贾可尼表示，中国欧盟商会会员企业希望能够参与到山东的工业改革以及转型过程中，进而为工业企业的数字化和创新化转型做出贡献。中国欧盟商会工作组代表以及部分企业代表发言，并与参会部门进行了互动交流。

中国欧盟商会医疗器械工作组的近二十位行业专家也于10月14日访问济南，并与山东省商务厅、省卫生健康委及省医保局开展了工作会议。

山东省及济南市政府对此次商会访问团给予大力支持及高度评价，希望今后能建立有效机制大力促进政府与会员企业以行业专题为主的考察交流工作。
