DDG Meiying Liu from Beijing Commerce Bureau Visits the European Chamber

On 31st January, Ms Meiying Liu, the new Deputy Director General (DDG) of the Beijing Commerce Bureau visited the European Chamber, along with representatives from the Beijing Municipal Business Information Consultation Centre (北京商业信息咨询中心), Foreign Investment Development Division (外资发展处) and Foreign Investment Management Division (外资管理处) under the Bureau.

Secretary General Adam Dunnett, three members representing Banking and Healthcare Equipment (HCE) Working Groups and Government Relations Manager Michelle Zhang received their visit and had a fruitful discussion with them. Apart from issues in financial services and HCE sectors, topics like the US-China trade conflict’s impact on Foreign Invested Enterprises (FIEs) in China, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) development, pharmaceutical procurement and international talents’ children education were touched upon at the meeting. At the end, Adam presented European Business in China Position Paper 2018/2019, Business Confidence Survey 2018 and 18 Months since Davos: How China’s Vision Became a Reform Imperative to DDG Liu.
