EU connectivity and sustainable development: exploring business opportunities

In the context of the European Commission Directorate-General for Development and Cooperation (DG DEVCO)'s visit to China, Pierre Amilhat, Director for Asia, Central Asia, Middle East/Gulf and Pacific, Directorate-General for Development and Cooperation met the European Chamber to talk about the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the potential opportunities stemming from the EU strategy on connectivity. The meeting was chaired by European Chamber States Representative Ms. Sara Marchetta.

Mr. Amilhat was joined by Mr. Balazs Horvath, Director at UNDP Asia Pacific, as well as European Union Delegation First Counsellor for Maritime and Fisheries, Mobility and Transport Mr. Niall Leonard. After the presentations, members engaged in an animated discussion on the issues surrounding the EU's connectivity strategy and Chinese projects like the BRI and provided the perspective of their industry and companies.
