Meeting with the Shanghai Gas Bureau and China Quality Supervising and Test Center for Gas Appliance

The Chinese government is now attaching greater importance to the protection of natural environmental resources. Meanwhile, the Chinese urbanization development is in bad need of keeping pace with the overwhelming growth in consumer demand. Therefore, as the pioneer government entity in domestic gas management, the Shanghai Gas Bureau considers it necessary to take the lead to put forward higher requirements for fuel gas appliances in terms of safety and environmental protection.

Based on the existing Chinese national and industrial standards, the emendation process of the new Shanghai local standard DB31/T 300 Technical Requirement for Safety and Environment Protection of Gas Appliances started at the beginning of 2017, which will be able to play an exemplary role in gas supervision nationwide.

European Heating Industry China Initiative observed this development and maintained dialogues with the Gas Bureau for 4 months since February 2018, and has invited the officials to join the bilateral exchange during the ISH 2018 period.
