High-level Dialogue with Tianjin Commission of Commerce

On 25th April, the European Chamber’s Tianjin Chapter organised an exclusive high-level dialogue for members and Tianjin government authorities. Zhang Aiguo, director general of the Tianjing Commission of Commerce, and Gao Lijuan, deputy director general of the Tianjin Commission of Commerce, provided updates on Tianjin’s business environment.
The event started with a keynote address from Dr Christoph Schrempp, vice chair of the Chamber’s Tianjin Chapter, he highlighted the benefits that could come about in meetings with local government and then presented on the local implementation of State Council Document’s No. 5 and No. 39, and Tianjin Circular No. 26.
Following Dr Schrempp's speech, Mr Zhang updated the audience on Tianjin’s economic performance in the first quarter of 2018 and outlined how the municipal government was planning on reforming the local business environment, with input from European Chamber member companies. Both parties at the event expressed a willingness to make this dialogue a more regular method for sharing information on issues that are important to businesses operating in Tianjin.
