Meeting with Trondheim Municipality Delegation of Norway

Chamber Vice President Massimo Bagnasco started this meeting with a roundtable introduction and a brief introduction on the Chamber. Furthermore, he provided insights on the foreign investment environment in China, from the perspective of opportunities and challenges for the European business. Subsequently Chamber Business Manager Cecilia Rovelli and Working Group Coordinator Kevin Gao made presentations on the Energy Working Group, Carbon Market Sub-Working Group and Construction Working Group respectively and illustrated the recent development and key recommendations for the above industries.

Mr Morten Wolden, Rådmann (City CEO) of Trondheim Municipality made a presentation on the development of smart city and provided several cases in Trondheim. He further gave the floor to Ms Annemie Wyckmans, who made a presentation on city-university cooperation model in Norway, provided updates on the Urban-EU-China Innovation Platform Project and also invited the Chamber to participate in the Nordic Edge Exposition on Smart City to be organised in autumn of 2018 in Beijing.

A roundtable discussion was initiated afterwards with questions regarding data protection and sharing economy raised by the Chamber’s General Manager of Beijing Chapter Carl Hayward. This meeting concluded with Mr Massimo Bagnasco presenting the European Chamber Position Paper 2017/2018 to Mr Morten Wolden and the wish of continuing such communication with Trondheim Municipality and industries in the future.
