2017 China Forum on Criminal IP Protection

The European Chamber co-organised the 2017 China Forum on Criminal IP Protection on 20-21th June in Hangzhou. European Chamber Vice President and Shanghai Chapter Chairman addressed at the opening remarks. The Chamber’s National Chair of the Intellectual Property Right Working Group participated and presented in the panel discussion.  

At this year's forum, five panels have been held and covered: International Experience Exchange on Criminal Protection for Intellectual Property; Trademark Crime; Trade Secret Crime; Crimes on Intellectual Properties Under the Internet Environment; Criminal Investigation Strategy and Collaboration between Police and Enterprises. 

In the address at the opening, Vice President D’Andrea argued that there is still room for further improvement, both in terms of the actual IPR regulations and their enforcement. International cooperation and understanding among different parties is needed and the European Chamber looks forward to greater collaboration guided by the principles of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits.
