Meeting with Shanghai Commerce DG on Shanghai FTZ and Guofa No. 5

During this meeting, Mr. Mick Adams, Vice President of the European Chamber introduced the Position Paper and Manufacturing in China 2025 report to Madam Shang Yuying, Director General of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce. Madam Shang said the central authorities and the State Council have recognised Shanghai's achievements in the development of the pilot free trade zone in the past four years. The emphasis of the next stage is to further open up and enhance the in-event and after-event regulation to create a fair, transparent and predictable business environment. Regarding the local implementation details of the Guofa No. 5, the Shanghai government would release a document containing 33 articles and host a press conference in the afternoon of April 27. Each district government and departments will then issue more detailed implementation plans. During this process, Madam Shang welcomes the input from the Chamber and its members.
