Seminar on China's Anti-monopoly Law and Regulation on Abuse of Intellectual Property Rights

China's Anti-monopoly Law will come into effect on August 1 this year and relevant guides on its enforcement is being developed, which will  play an important role in regulating the order of market competition in China. As regulation of abuse of intellectual property right is an essential part of the anti-monopoly law from nation to nation, China's Anti-monopoly Law has made special provisions to prohibit the abuse of intellectual property rights. With forthcoming implementation of China's Anti-monopoly Law, CWTO has decided to hold Seminar on China’s Anti-monopoly Law and Regulation on Abuse of Intellectual Property Rights in Beijing from April 26 to April 27, 2008.

Main officials from legislation and enforcement authorities, experts on Anti-Monopoly Law and intellectual property as well as seniors in business and industry sections will be invited to this seminar to work on how to regulate the abuse of intellectual property rights. During the seminar specific conditions constituting abuse of intellectual property rights will be discussed in depth; analysis and forecasting will be made on enforcement of law against the abuse of intellectual property rights after implementation of China's Anti-monopoly Law with the hope to clarify to enterprises home and abroad as well as relevant institutions the boundary between legitimate exercise and abuse of intellectual property rights so as to avoid abuse of the intellectual right and help them with the use of Anti-monopoly Law to protect its own interests.
