Guangzhou, May 28th, European Board Member, Mr. Nong, participated in the round table discussion at the PRD Industrial & Commercial Leaders Summit, organized by the Guangdong Council for the Development Promotion of Small & Medium Enterprises with the support of the Ministry of Industry & Information Technology, People's Government of Guangdong Province, The Economy & Information Commission, SME Bureau of Guangdong Province and SME Bureau of Guangzhou.
The PRD Summit is held twice every year and the 2010 May edition was dedicated to Green and Low Carbon Economy. In 2010, many businesses have realized that green economy and low-carbon energy are very important to their future development and they are actively seeking the transformation towards the low-carbon mode. To respond to the need the organizers had invited almost twenty speakers and leaders from the government, experts and entrepreneurs from relevant fields who presented on various aspects and more than 500 SMEs and 800 participants attended the event, among which several European enterprises.

Together with high level representatives from Midea Group, SAP, IBM China Business Enterprise Department SME Group, DELL China, and Industrial Bank Guangzhou Branch, Mr. Nong shared the mission and activities of the European Chamber in China and the important role of the EU small & medium size enterprises in China contributing greatly to the efforts in building a better future focused on the development of green and low carbon economy.

Mr. Gu Weiping, president of Industrial Bank Guangzhou Branch shared how the SMEs involved in low carbon and green economy projects can favour special loan conditions. The successful introduction of funding projects during the afternoon road-show was one of the most significant achievements for this year Summit.
