New Chamber Leadership Elected at 2009 Annual General Meeting
European Chamber, 21st April 2009

Representatives from almost 100 member companies of the European Chamber gathered at the offices of the EU Delegation in Beijing on Monday for the Chamber’s 2009 Annual General Meeting.

At the gathering, which was chaired by the Chamber’s Honorary President Ambassador Serge Abou of the EU Delegation in China, a new Executive Committee was elected which will lead the Chamber for the next 12 months.

Joerg Wuttke of BASF was re-appointed for a third term as President of the Chamber, while Lyn Kok of Standard Chartered and Jacques de Boisseson of Total were re-elected as Vice Presidents. They will be joined on the Executive Committee by Brice Kochk of ABB, who was elected for his first term as Vice President, and Michael Fredskov Christiansen of Novosymes who will serve as Treasurer.

At the meeting, Joerg Wuttke also presented the President’s Report 2009, an overview of the Chamber’s progress over the last year, and Secretary General Dirk Moens presented the Treasurer’s Report on behalf of Michael Fredskov Christiansen.

The final makeup of the Executive Committee for the next year will be determined on 22nd April, when the Chamber’s Supervisory Board, composed of representatives of the 27 EU member states, meet in Beijing to elect three of their number to represent the Supervisory Board on the Committee.
