On 22nd August the Shanghai Chapter of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China hosted its event “Making Sense of HR in China: How to Handle Mass Layoff in China” – in response to interest from participants, on 27th November, from 15:30 to 17:05, at the European Chamber Shanghai Office, we are hosting a second event on mass-scale layoffs with a focus on what happens after the downsizing is implemented and the news are out in the world.
Layoffs, like break-ups, are hard to do. No one likes to break the news, someone’s usually hurt and how it’s handled often affects many other relationships including, for employers, their brand and employee morale. For employers, an important question is what they’re sharing. In the wake of an incident or a layoff, employers must widen their public relations focus beyond traditional media to include social media.
The European Chamber is pleased to welcome you to an event where speakers from Cornerstone and LABOURS will share with participants key factors that need to be kept in mind after a mass-scale layoff is conducted.
