Dear Working Group Members,
After a busy 2018, the Agriculture, Food and Beverage Working Group is delighted to invite you to the first WG meeting of the new year, which will take place on Monday, 18th February 2019, from 14:00 to 16:00. During this kick-off meeting, we will review the past activity of the WG, as well as present on and discuss about a number of AFB-related regulatory novelties. Members are encouraged to join the discussion and provide input on the WG’s 2019 activity, advocacy and Position Paper priorities. For this purpose, we also kindly invite you to complete the attached AFB WG Member Questionnaire.
With this occasion, the 2019 Agriculture, Food and Beverage Working Group Chair election will be held. The Chair and Vice Chairs play a crucial role in driving the WG, having a leadership role in the drafting of the Position Paper, communicating key messages to Chinese and European government authorities and coordinating WG meetings and other activities.
Should you be interested in putting your name forward for the Chair election or nominating a candidate, please send a short biography and a motivation letter, stating whether you intend to run for Chair or Vice Chair and your plans to promote the WG to Ms. Alexandra-Andreea Pop at apop@europeanchamber.com.cn by Tuesday 12th February, 2019, COB.
The meeting will be held simultaneously in both Beijing and Shanghai via video conference system on Monday, 18th February 2019, from 14:00 to 16:00.

Chair Election Policy:
In accordance with European Chamber internal guidelines, a separate email will be sent to Working Group members prior to the election, with the biographies and motivation letters of all candidates attached. Regarding the elections voting procedure, there will be one vote per company, which must be conducted in person at the WG meeting after each candidate has had the opportunity to give a short speech on why they would like to run for election. The duration of the term for both Chairs and Vice Chairs is one year. All elected Chairpersons must sign the attached Code of Conduct, following election. To familiarise yourself with the Code of Conduct and responsibilities as Chairs, please refer to the attached Starter Kit.
We encourage as many of our members as possible to attend the meeting to have their say in the leadership and representation of the Agriculture, Food and Beverage Working Group in the year ahead.
