The European Green Deal resets the Commission’s commitment to tackling the climate and environmental-related challenges that is this generation’s defining task. With each passing year, Earth’s atmosphere is warming and the climate is changing. One million of the eight million species on the planet are at risk of extinction. Forests and oceans are being polluted and destroyed. The European Green Deal is a response to these challenges. It is a new growth strategy that aims to transform the European Union (EU) into a fair and prosperous society, which has a modern, resource-efficient and competitive economy with zero greenhouse gases by 2050 and where economic growth is decoupled from resource use.
European Union Chamber of Commerce in China is delighted to invite Mr Sebastien Paquot, head of section, counsellor for Climate Action and Environment and Mr Frank Schmiedel, first counsellor, Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW), EU Delegation to China to a webinar on the Green Deal, New Industrial Strategy and Circular Economy policies.
