With growing income, Chinese consumers have been demanding higher standards with regard to safety, health and quality of life. On January 17, the China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) jointly issued a Circular on Pilot Measures Concerning the Record-filing of Non-special-purpose Cosmetic Imports in Shanghai’s Pudong New Area (see circular in Chinese). The pilot measures will be valid from March 1, 2017 to December 21, 2018.

2016 was an intense year for policymaking and reform in many logistics-related sectors, including shipping industry, express delivery, road transport and customs affairs. 2017 is critical as we will see the implementation of the new policies and a deepening of the reform. The Logistics Working Group is going to organise its first working group meeting in 2017 to discuss the challenges we will face in the years to come and our lobby strategy and focus in 2017.
