As the world begins to reflect on their COVID-19 experience, the changes it caused in society, and how governments, companies and communities have had to adapt, we also begin to focus on strategizing a way forward. On the evening of March 26, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the implementation of an entry ban to be put into force at midnight on March 28. Anyone outside of China afterward was barred from returning, effectively invalidating visas and residency permits. Despite this sudden policy, a few groups were allowed to enter China, one group being green card holders.

Tengda ((2019) SPC IP Civil No. 147), holding that the manufacturer’s making and selling of routers directly infringed a telecommunication method-of-use patent even though the manufacturer itself did not perform the patented method. This case is recognised the Chinese Akamai case.

The European Chamber is delighted to invite Mr. Steve SONG, Partner and Patent Attorney of Beijing DHH Law Firm, who represented the defendant in this landmark case to provide our members insights by studying the judgement of a few cases regarding multi-party patent infringement.
