European Chamber released this year’s Business Confidence Survey in June, which highlights an emerging contradiction: China’s increasingly sophisticated economy stands in stark contrast to its highly burdensome regulatory environment. In July, European Chamber published a new major report analysing the progress and shortcomings of China’s reform agenda since President Xi Jinping spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos in early 2017. Both of the reports serve important roles to help European business owners to understand the latest policies regarding the further opening and reform, as well as the stance of European business on those policies.
