The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, South China Chapter invites members to participate in the working level government meeting with the Guangdong Province Administration for Industry & Commerce (GD AIC). This meeting is an opportunity for a discussion about the trademark law as well as addressing relevant questions from members. It expects to bring together officials from the GD AIC, who will engage with member companies in Q&A session and explain recent developments on the trademark law.
The role of the GD AIC in trademark protection:
GD AIC is the department under Guangdong Provincial People’s Government in charge of supervisions and administrations for the market as well as administrative enforcements of law. Its main responsibilities on trademark protection are: administrative work on special marks and official marks; carry out, in accordance with law, the protection of the exclusive right of trademarks; supervise and administer trademark printing activities; supervise and instruct trademark agencies; recognize and administer, in accordance with law, well-known trademarks and handle trademark infringement disputes.
