The rapid evolution of Asia’s markets is creating vast opportunities, but also new complexities. Leading foreign players are having to rapidly adapt their commercial strategies: from tapping into the region’s increasingly demanding consumers to grappling with the impact of e-commerce and digital media to competing with world-class local companies. Where are the greatest opportunities and risks? How are MNCs adapting their business models?
Ben Simpfendorfer’s work is the result of field-research and interviews conducted in Beijing, Guangzhou, Bangkok, Hanoi, Mumbai and Cairo, among a range of cities for his recently released book. His research has looked at a broad range of topics from China’s e-commerce trade to India’s film industry to Thailand’s supply-chains. He is also co-author of the “Future for MNCs in China” reports published by KPMG in 2012 and 2014.
