Dear Working Group member,
The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the next Construction Working Group meeting. It will be held on Friday, 6 February, 1pm-3pm at the European Chamber Beijing office.
At this meeting, Ms. Barbara Li, Partner, Norton Rose Fulbright Beijing, will give an introduction to the Foreign Investment Law and its implications for your business in China. China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) has published a draft of the Foreign Investment Law (Draft FIL) that will see a major shake-up of the country’s foreign investment regime. Public consultation for the draft law will be open until 17 February 2015. This draft law, once issued, will replace the current legal scheme regulating foreign investments in China and will have major implications for overseas investors looking to continue, expand, or begin operations in China.
Tentative Agenda:
- 2015-2016 Chair/Vice Chair Elections
- Introduction to the Foreign Investment Law and its implications for your business in China, Ms. Barbara Li, Partner, Norton Rose Fulbright Beijing
- Discussion on upcoming Working Group activities
- Discussion on cooperation strategy with Shanghai and Shenyang for mutual events
- Preliminary discussion on Position Paper 2015-2016
- Main outcomes of EU Tour in Brussels (26-30 Jan 2015), Mr. Massimo Bagnasco, Managing Director, Progetto CMR
As always, we welcome Working Group members’ suggestions for possible agenda topics and speakers for this and future Working Group meetings.
