Established in February 1999, located in Dujiangyan City 55 km far from Chengdu City, Lafarge Dujiangyan Cement Co., Ltd. is one of the biggest foreign-invested enterprises in Southwest China. Owing a world advanced dry process production line with precalciner, a limestone quarry, a shale quarry and a 2.2 km railway line, it holds 40% imported equipments and was put into production in February 2002. The production line has an annual capacity of 1.08 million tons clinker and 1.4 million tons cement, which is the production line with most high capacity in southwest China. Lafarge Dujiangyan Cement Co., Ltd. obeys Lafarge group environment protection policy, and has invested 74 million RMB on exhause emission, noise treatment, waste disposal, plant virescence and quarry vegetation recovery. The company also built a museum to reserve Song Dynasty kilns and relics(800 years ago) discovered during the plant site construction with an investment of 6.2 million RMB. The company sponsored Dujiangyan Longxihongkou National Nature Reserve of its patrol and inspection work to protect wild pandas and other rare animals and plants by its close cooperation with WWF.
