The European Chamber invites you to attend the EU-China RoHS Conference to be held in Beijing, China on the 4th - 5th December 2006.
In response to recent requests for further clarification on both the European and Chinese RoHS directive; DG Trade, in close cooperation with DG Environment, DG Enterprise and their Chinese counterparts coordinated by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, are preparing a joint Conference in Beijing on 4th and 5th December 2006.
This two-day Conference will offer EU and Chinese authorities, and in particular industry, a platform to exchange views on the promotion of environmentally-sustainable trade. The objective of the Conference is to enhance the understanding of compliance requirements amongst industries wishing to export their goods to each respective region, as well both the implementation and enforcement in both Europe and China. This Conference will also provide an opportunity for EU authorities to address issues related to the Chinese proposed legislation directly with the relevant counterparts.
This Conference, organised by the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC), will be followed by two further workshops, funded by the European Commission through the Asia Invest II Programme, aimed at delivering capacity building and training to the Chinese EEE industry on RoHS compliance. Additional funding for the Beijing Conference is also provided through the EU-China Trade Programme (EUCTP). The additional workshops will take place in Shanghai and Guangzhou on the 7th - 8th and 11th ??12th December 2006.
