Recent changes in Chinese legislation in project approval processes and the development of new international standards for project-funding lead to increasing pressure on all those involved in development projects, including the NDRC, Ministry of Commerce and local politicians. Increasingly, accountability for approval of large-scale industrial developments is being demanded of politicians, strategists, planners and economists. There is a growing concern about the conversion of agricultural land to industrial use, the engagement and satisfaction of local communities, energy and resources management, construction site safety, environmental management, resettlement and compensation, and crisis management as well as emergency-preparedness of new developments.
Join our monthly dinner and you can have a chance to share your opinions with Mr. Johnny Browaeys from ERM, the world's largest Environmental Consultancy Company.
The presentation has two objectives:
Firstly, it will provide business leaders with insight into how the recent shift in Chinese policy will affect their business environment. What new liabilities does it entail? What new opportunities arise?
Secondly, the presentation will discuss how the regulatory framework in China is different from the Western framework, but more importantly, it will also shed light on how clued-up business leaders can align with China's new 5 year plan to enhance their business relations with local government and increase business success, especially in Second Tier Cities.
