Banking Working Group Meeting
20 October 2004
EU Delegation
Further to the recent email attaching the CBRC questionnaire for representative banking offices, we would like to propose that the next Banking Working Group meeting take place, as originally planned, on Wednesday 20 October. Scheduling difficulties meant that Monday afternoon, as previously suggested, was less convenient for a majority of members. To prepare for this meeting we also propose that the agenda include the following items:
- Debriefing on EU DG EcFin Director General Klaus Regling's September visit to China
- Brief remarks from the EU-China Financial Services Cooperation Programme (FSCP), and background to their upcoming Steering Committee Meeting next week; opportunities for cooperation
- Brief remarks from WTO II Programme officials; presentation and opportunities for cooperation
- Presentation of the Position Paper 2004 to CBRC Chairman Liu Mingkang -- preparing for a meeting to be scheduled in November
- Common concerns regarding the CBRC Questionnaire for representative banking offices
- Miscellaneous
We would be grateful for you to confirm your participation at your earliest convenience, and to bring to our attention any additional items you would wish to raise during the meeting. All correspondence may be addressed to nruble@euccc.com.cn
