On 30th August 2010, the delegation of European Chamber Renewable Energy Sub-Working Group visited the offices of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) to meet with Deputy Director General and Deputy Director from the Department of Equipment Manufacturing Industries.
The two parties openly discussed on the Entry Standards for Wind Power Equipment Manufacturing Industry. MIIT Stressed that the Entry Standards are to guide the healthy development of the wind power equipment manufacturing industry and curb overcapacity in the industry. The European Chamber greatly appreciates the opportunity to comment on the Entry Standards and fully understand MIIT’s intension to guide the sustainable development of wind industry. However, the Renewable Energy Sub-Working Group is in fact very concerned about the proposed measures and the possible unintended negative consequences.
The Deputy Director General kindly invited the European Chamber to frequently communicate with the Ministry on related issues and the European Chamber also expressed interest in providing constructive support to the Department and the Ministry on the drafting of new rules and revision of existing laws and policies.
