Chair Election and Position Paper Key Recommendation identification

Dear Healthcare Equipment Working Group Member,
****The European Chamber Healthcare Equipment Working Group is organizing two Working Group meetings this Month.
An invitation for the first Working Group meeting on Thursday 11th March has already been sent to all members, to view the agenda of the 11th March meeting please click here (Members Only).
Please note that a second working group meeting will be held on Friday 19th March. This meeting will focus on two aspects:
1. HCE WG Chair and Vice Chair Elections
2. Position Paper Key Recommendation identification
To attend this important meeting, please register with Mr. Jon Zhao at jzhao@euccc.com.cn by 18th March, please kindly specify which offices you would like to attend the meeting.
As you may know, the HCE Working Chairs and Vice Chair play a crucial role in driving the Working Group, including a leadership role in the drafting of the Position Paper, communicating key messages to the Chinese and European governments, and steering the Working Group meetings. The desired characteristics of a Chair and Vice Chair are a senior industry representative with relevant industry expertise and government contacts who has the time and willingness to support the group. Previous participation in the Working Group is also highly valued (a general job description is attached).
Both current Chairs, Mr. Davey Han (Siemens) and Mr. Camon Sin (Medtronic), have confirmed that they would like to put their names forward for re-election. The current Vice Chair, Vicky Tao (Roche) has also confirmed her willingness to put her name forward for re-election. It is possible to have at most two Chairs and two Vice Chairs for the Working Group.
The European Chamber highly encourages anyone else who is interested in running for the position of Chair or Vice Chair to inform the European Chamber HCE WG, by emailing both Mark Rushton and Penny Zhao at mrushton@euccc.com.cm and yzhao@euccc.com.cn by noon March 12th 2010.
****In addition, the Healthcare Equipment Working Group will also begin discussions on the Position Paper for 2010, in particular with regards to identifying the Key Recommendations. As the Position Paper forms the basis of our lobbying, members are strongly encouraged to consult widely within their own company in advance so that they can then table such recommendations for discussion at this meeting. For your reference, please find attached the 2009 HCE WG Position Paper.
Detailed Key Recommendations are attached to this Email (the Excel File) along with a Copy of last year's Position Paper (the PDF file).
Should you wish to comment on the Key Recommendations and/or add new concerns in the Position Paper, please send back the attached Template (the Excel File) back to Mark Rushton and Penny Zhao at mrushton@euccc.com.cm and yzhao@euccc.com.cn by Thursday, 17th March 2010.
