According to European Chamber’s ‘Articles of Association of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China’, it is the time of the year to hold the annual chair/vice-chairs election for the Finance and Taxation Working Group to lead the working group affairs for the next 12 months.
The election will take place on Wednesday 13th March 2:30-4:00 PM at the European Chamber Beijing Office and online. All participants, especially candidates are encouraged to participate in the meeting on-site in Beijing Office. However, the online dial-in option is also open to those who cannot participate in person.
The Finance and Taxation Working Group consists of member companies that range from multinational corporations (MNCs) to law firms operating inside China. The objective of the working group is to engage in an effective dialogue with regulators in order to develop a more workable, coherent and integrated set of taxation, finance and accounting rules, in line with international best practices. The working group's recommendations are not sector specific but represent the interests of all member companies of the European Chamber.
The maximum duration of the Chairperson or Vice Chairperson of a Working Group is three consecutive years. Candidates are only eligible for Chair or Vice Chair positions if he/she is physically based in China. The F&T Working Group is going to elect one Chairperson and three Vice-Chairpersons.
