The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the 2023 Sustainable Business Awards Conference & Ceremony: Embracing the Critical Transition & Measuring Unexpected Impacts. Commemorating the 7th annual Sustainable Business Awards (SBA) in collaboration with SynTao as the knowledge partner, the SBA rewards companies that put sustainable economic growth, green development, innovation, risk management and social welfare at the forefront of their values.
In a time of low trust and high expectations, consumers and society are expecting more and better from businesses. With rising uncertainty from climate change, geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruptions and technological risks, building resilience is crucial to enable long term sustainable and inclusive growth. Integrating sustainability into core business operations not only creates long-term value for stakeholders but also helps companies to mitigate risks and adapt to change.
A key step for businesses is a sustainability agenda: a commitment to incorporating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles into the corporate purpose, strategy, social impact, stakeholder engagement and the navigation of geopolitics. However, implementation can be challenging for businesses, especially when it comes to evaluation. To address this challenge, business leaders need to work towards developing globally recognised tools, institutions or standards for measuring sustainability that can be applied to industries worldwide.
The conference will explore the intricacies of accelerating the green transition and measuring sustainability, with insights from experts from across industries. Followed by a ceremony to announce this year’s Sustainable Business Awards winners.
The SBA Conference & Ceremony is now open for sponsorship, if you are interested, please contact Ms Shengjia Di at sjdi@europeanchamber.com.cn

Learn More About the Sustainable Business Awards (SBA)
Since being established in 2017, the European Chamber of Sustainable Business Awards (SBA) have been continuously improving, growing, and promoting awareness of sustainability in business. As we strongly value feedback from our experts, each year, categories, criteria, and requirements are adapted best to reflect Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) standards. Notably, our award categories closely follow United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals and China’s long-term policy on rural revitalisation and environmental protection. The SBA will deepen our understanding of CSR, company goals, and opportunities. The Sustainable Business Awards focus on stakeholder engagement and long-term impact rather than utilising sustainability as a ‘buzzword’ in company strategy without meaning. The judging criteria are systematic and objective; the evaluation process is open and transparent.
This year the Awards categories consist of:
- Circular Economy Pioneer
- Decarbonisation Leader
- Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Leader
- Environmental Pioneer
- Rural Development Pioneer
