The newly amended regulations of Shanghai Municipality on the protection of consumers' rights and interests came into effect from August 1st, 2022. This is the second time that Shanghai has revised the regulation after eight years, adding 24 new articles and amending 63 articles. This revision includes new provisions on the obligations of operators for various business activities, such as webcast, blind box sales and cross-border e-commerce, and on the handling of consumer personal information.
We are honored to invite Mr. Tang Jiansheng, Deputy Secretary General of Shanghai Consumer Council to deliver the presentation, he will interpret the newly added provisions, the impact of the new regulations on the products, services and marketing activities of enterprises, and the new mechanism to promote the benign interaction between consumers and business operators.
