Dear Members,
The European Chamber’s NBFI Working Group is delighted to invite you to its meeting "An Update on China Cybersecurity and Data Protection" and Chair elections" which is to take place on Tuesday 19th July, 14.00-15.30 pm at the European Chamber’s Shanghai office as well as online via Zoom.
At this meeting, Mr Alex Roberts, Counsel at Linklaters, will provide an update on the latest developments in cybersecurity and data protection in China. Don’t hesitate to share with us any areas of particular interest/concern, or open questions you would like to be discussed during the session.
The meeting will also be the occasion to host an election for a new working group Chair/ Vice-Chair. Only WG members who have their registration confirmed for this meeting will have the right to vote in person or online, with one vote per company. The Chair and Vice-Chairs play a crucial role in driving the Working Group, which includes a leadership role in the drafting of the WG Position Paper, communicating key messages to Chinese and European government authorities and steering Working Group meetings.
We encourage as many of our members as possible to attend to have their say in the leadership and representation of the Working Group in the year ahead. To attend the meeting please email Ms Ludivine Destree at ldestree@europeanchamber.com.cn (Beijing) before Friday 15th July COB Beijing Time. For members wishing to attend remotely, please note that you will receive a confirmation email containing the link to join the meeting via Zoom after registration closes.
Should you be interested in putting your name forward for election, please send your CV and Motivation Letter, stating whether you intend to run for Chair or Vice-Chair to Ms Ludivine Destree at ldestree@europeanchamber.com.cn by latest Monday 11thJuly COB. In your Motivation Letter please state why your wish to be elected Chair or Vice-Chair and provide a set of goals you have for the WG over the next 12 months as well as your intended contribution to the Position Paper. To familiarise yourself with the Code of Conduct and responsibilities as chairs, please refer to the attached Starter Kit.
