2022 Kick-off Meeting: Chair/Vice-Chairs Election, PP Discussion

As the European Chamber’s tradition, it is the time of the year to hold the annual chair/vice-chairs election for the Investment Working Group to lead the working group affairs for the next 12 months.
The election will take place on Wednesday 30th March at 5:30 PM-7 PM (Beijing time) at the European Chamber Shanghai Office. It is encouraged that all participants, candidates in particular, attend the meeting onsite. However, due to covid travel restrictions, the online dial-in option is also open for those who cannot join in person.
This important meeting will consist of the 2022-2023 chair elections and the 2022 Investment Working Group Position Paper discussion. Candidates running for the elections will introduce themselves and their goals for the Investment Working Group over the following 12 months. Only Investment WG members who had their registration confirmed for this meeting will have the right to vote in person or online, with one vote per company. Online voting instructions will be sent via email to individual attendees prior to the meeting.

A. Roles and Responsibilities
The National Chair and Vice Chairs play a crucial role in driving the Working Group, including a leadership role in drafting the Position Paper, communicating key messages to Chinese and European government authorities and steering Working Group meetings. The desired characteristics of a Chair and Vice Chairs are a representative with relevant expertise and government contacts who has the time and willingness to support the Working Group. Previous participation in the Working Group is essential. Before applying for the position of Chair or Vice Chair, we recommend that you obtain approval from your company.
B. Positions
One (1) National Chair and Two (2) National Vice Chairs are open for candidacy.
C. Application
The Chair and Vice Chairs should represent key issues of the industry, we therefore encourage candidates who have relevant background and expertise to run.

o The position you are planning on running.
o Why you wish to be elected Chair or Vice Chair.
o How your background and experience match the role.
o The goals you have for the Investment Working Group for the following 12 months.
o How you intend to utilize or share professional resources for the benefit of the working group.
o Whether you hold a position in another Chamber or industry association.
