2021 has witnessed tremendous changes in China’ digital regulatory landscape. The Data Security Law was approved in June 2021 by the National People’s Congress and became effective on 1st September. The Personal Information Protection Law was approved in August 2021 and became effective on 1st November. Both laws introduced significant compliance requirements on data protection to companies’ daily operation. To help our members better understand the impacts of these two important pieces of legislation, the European Chamber is delighted to invite to the joint Working Group Meeting ‘Impact of Data Security Law and Personal Information Protection Law in Transport Sector’at 3:30-5:00pm on Tuesday, 23rd November 2021 in European Chamber’s Beijing Office. Please note that this event will be held only in Chinese.
At this meeting, Ms Li Luyao will share her insights on the Data Security Law and Personal Information Protection Law and discuss the impacts of them in transport sector. Ms Li Luyao is the Chief Economist of the China Transport Communications and Information Centre (CTTIC). CTTIC is an organisation that belongs to the Ministry of Transport. Its key responsibilities include providing communication service support to the Ministry and sector, standardisation drafting, international cooperation and promotion of new technology. A Q&A session is organised after the presentation.
