The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China is pleased to invite you to a visit to Covestro Shanghai Integrated Site and Suez’s SCIP SITA’s hazardous waste incineration plant, both located in the Shanghai Chemicals Industry Park (SCIP).
Due to internal plant policies, the visits will take place via bus tour. Participants shall wear masks at all times. In order to access the park, all participants must submit their contact details, ID/passport number, and mobile phone number to the European Chamber latest by 15th January COB.
About Covestro Integrated Site Shanghai (CISS)
The Covestro Integrated Site Shanghai (CISS) is the largest investment and the largest production sites outside of Germany, which provides better products and services for the Asia-Pacific region. CISS was named “National Green Factory” in China by the Ministry Industry and Information Technology.
The facility produces high-grade polycarbonate, polyurethane raw materials, and coating, adhesive, and specialty chemical raw materials that are commonly used in construction, electronics, wood and furniture, and automotive sectors.
About Suez SCIP SITA Hazardous waste incineration plant
SUEZ has been providing hazardous waste incineration treatment services in SCIP since 2006. Currently it has three incineration lines with an annual treatment capacity of 120,000 tons, which can treat the industrial waste of 24 categories and 310 types on the national list of hazardous waste. It also provides packaging, transportation, analysis and other services. This project is Asia's largest hazardous waste incineration facility.
About Shanghai Chemical Industrial Park (SCIP)
SCIP is the first professional development zone specialised in the petrochemical industry in China. It is one of the seven major national petrochemical industry bases planned by the State Council. Situated along the north bank of Hangzhou Bay, SCIP has a planning area of 29.4km2.
It has formed a circular economy industrial chain with ethylene as up-stream, isocyanate and polycarbonate as mid-stream, and fine chemicals and synthetic new materials as down-stream. It has attracted a large number od world-famous chemical companies such as BASF, COVESTRO, EVONIK, HENKEL, HUNTSMAN, INVISTA, 3M, CEPSA etc. It has the most multinational chemical companies, highest industrial capability and product correlation, and most advanced resource recycling level.

How to Apply to Register
Due to the nature of this event, all participants must apply to register via email. To apply to register please contact Ms Catalina Fernandez Silva at cfernandezsilva@europeanchamber.com.cn
All applications will be screened in advance, as competitors of the hosting companies are not eligible to participate. Your registration is not finalised until you receive an email from the European Chamber confirming your participation. In order to access the park, all participants must submit their contact details, ID/passport number, and mobile phone number to the European Chamber latest by 15th January COB.
Meeting point of Departure:
European Chamber Shanghai Office. The bus will leave at 7:30am, please be on time.
Reminders:
1. The tour will take place entirely by bus

5. Participants must wear mask at all times
6. All payments must be received in advance. Those who don't cancel at least 24h prior to the event will be charged the event fee.
Shuttle bus information
The shuttle bus is arranged by the European Chamber. Please note that all payments must be received in advance and the bus will leave on time. Your punctuality is greatly appreciated.
If you don’t plan to join the European Chamber shuttle bus and prefer to meet directly at the entrance of the plant please inform the European Chamber team in advance.
Advisory Council Policy
Members of the Advisory Council may receive complimentary admission to Chamber seminars, conferences and factory visits up to two attendees per event. Additional participants will be charged at the member rate.
Advisory Council members will still be charged the standard member rate for participation in training courses and special events, such as gala balls, government appreciation dinners, or admission to corporate social events/tournaments.
