Part I” which is to take place on Wednesday 13 May 2020, 14:30-15:30 pm CST.

The Electronic Signature Law of the People's Republic of Chinastipulates that parties may agree to execute a contract by e-signatures. However, in practice, not all courts accept the e-signature contracts as it is still not the prevailing way of contracting in China. As not all the courts accept the e-signature, it brings legal risk for future litigation, and prevents leasing companies and consumer finance companies to adopt and/or generalize the use of e-signatures. In addition, the closure of government offices and embassies in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis have presented new challenges for European cosmetic companies to fulfill all requirements of certain export documents, such as the Certificate of Free Sale (CFS) and the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), to those countries that require them.
In the current COVID-19 crisis stricken environment, both Working Groups believe that e-signature would ensure continued business operations and be a powerful alternative to help enterprises to overcome the above mentioned difficulties.
At this first meeting, Beibei Zhang, DS Avocatswill present an overview of the Electronic Signature Law of the P.R.C and its current implementation status. She will also advise members on the process of using e-signature in contracts and on documents while at the same time ensuring security and compliance.

14.15-14.45 Presentation by Ms. Beibei Zhang
