Amid the COVID-19 pandemic and global economic slowdown, digital transformation has accelerated and have brought into stark relief the level of digital capabilities each insurer has as the demand for self-service digital interaction capabilities is increasing coupled with potential for increased cyber-risk. In an environment in which more employees are working remotely makes the shift to more digital interactions vital. Also, modern technology enablement options for agents, adjusters, and others that are in the field will enable them to do their jobs in a world where customers expect to interact and conduct business online. However the massive shift to working-from-home and increased reliance on digital interactions is expected to increase the exposure level for cyber-risk such as the insurance company’s internal data and the data of the personal or commercial lines customer. This will require greater adherence to security protocols and the stringent use of security technologies. From an insurance product standpoint, insurers will need to reevaluate an already rapidly growing product line to assess coverages and limits.
At this meeting, three distingished speakers will offer their valuable insights.
Michael O’Dwyer, China Country Head, the Digital Insurer will present an overview of the current insurtech market in China and discuss how companies, regardless of origin or size can manage their digital transformation.
Thesera Blissing, Director at Accelerating Insurance and Founder of the Asia Insurtech Podcast, will offer her insights on sector specific impacts of COVID-19 and share some of the hottest topcis raised among insurtech and healthtech entrepeneurs on her podcast.
Puneet Kukreja, Partner, Chief Strategy Officer Cyber, Deloitte China will present what insurance companies ought to focus on in the field of data security and enabling technologies, which together form the core fundamental for cyber security architecture, in both times of crisis and when aiming to enhance their digital strategies.
