Since the launch of the Nanjing Chapter’s first Nanjing Position Paper in 2017, greater communication between the European business community and the local government has helped to meaningfully improve the local business environment of Nanjing and Jiangsu. With the goal of further advancing this constructive dialogue, the Nanjing chapter and its more than 100 members have launched the second Nanjing Position Paper to identify recently emerged and long-lasting concerns and also propose corresponding recommendations to local and provincial leaders in the following three main areas:
The ease of doing business and SME attraction
Good governance and Nanjing’s development model
Increasing the attractiveness of Nanjing and Jiangsu
This document forms a critical role in shaping our conversations with the Nanjing and Jiangsu governments, and sets the advocacy agenda of the Nanjing Chapter. As the local board looks to use the new Nanjing Position Paper to strengthen engagement with the government, it hopes to also continue to hear from members and involve them in government advocacy.
In that light, the second Nanjing Position Paper will be launched to the public on 22nd November. After the presentations, attendees will be given time to raise questions and their views regarding the report and the chamber’s efforts to improve the local business environment. Representatives from the European Chamber will also present on the national Position Paper, as well as a recent survey on the effects of the US-China Trade War.
The European Chamber would like to express our gratitude to member companies for contribution to the Position Paper and this event will be free to all the members (only one free entry offered to each member company).
