Dear Auto Components Working Group Members,
The European Chamber is delighted to invite you to join the next Auto Components Working Group Meeting: Observations in 2019 Global Automotive Supplier Study at 10.00-11.30am, 25th of October, 2019 at the European Chamber Shanghai Office.
The transformation of the automotive industry hits auto suppliers in 2019! For the first time since 2012, revenue and profits are no longer growing. The estimate for 2019 is -5% revenue for the industry and -17% impact on EBIT.
The supplier industry has previously been able to offset the development costs for future mobility (M-A-D-E) with increasing volumes; Not so for 2019, where global light vehicle production was down 2.4 million units (-5%) for the first half-year of 2019. Many OEM's have already launched cost-cutting programs and passing these requirements on to their suppliers.
Roland Berger's annual Global Automotive Supplier Study describes these shifts and financial implications. It also outlines some of the options that suppliers have in dealing with this transformation. During the meeting, Mr. Johan Karlberg, Automotive Partner at Roland Berger, will share with you the main observations in the 2019 Roland Berger Global Supplier Report, with a focus on the Chinese auto supplier industry.
Agenda:
10.00-10.10 Opening & Roundtable Introduction
10.10-10.50 Presentation: Observations in 2019 Global Automotive Supplier Study
10.50-11.30 Q&A and Roundtable Discussion
