Artificial intelligence (AI) is the theme of the Science Year 2019 in Germany. AI is probably the most exciting future technology of our time. AI indeed will change our lives and daily routine, our work, and our society. As the Research University in the Helmholtz Association, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) aligns its major research areas with the large challenges society is facing nowadays. Also in China AI has developed as one of the most important topics for a long time. It is no doubt that China will play a key role in the global race to develop cutting-edge AI. This is where is great potential for the joint research and development projects between German and Chinese scientists and entrepreneurs. In this year, four young scientists and professors of KIT will share their latest research results in the area of medical and surgical robots, interactive systems, multimodal sensors and blockchain technology at KIT Innovation Forum in Suzhou.
