Dear Banking Working Group Member,
We are delighted to invite you to the next Banking Working Group meeting which will take place on Thursday, 20th March at 08:30 at the European Chamber Office.
This meeting will be special one as we will hold the 2008 Banking Working Group Elections among a long interesting list of topics to discuss. We are also looking forward to the presentation of Mr. Guo Wu Ping from CBRC's audit division. We invited him to join the meeting in order to share with us his experience in auditing foreign banks. Mr Guo Wu Ping could unfortunately not yet confirm his presence.
As you may know, the Banking Working Chair and Vice Chairs play a crucial role in driving the the Working Group which includes the drafting of the Position Paper, communicating key messages to the Chinese and European Government, and steering the Working Group meetings. The desired characteristics of a Chair and Vice Chair are a senior industry representative with relevant industry expertise and government contacts that has the time and willingness to support the group. Previous participation in the Working Group is also highly valued (a general job description is attached).
Although the 2007 Chair and Vice Chair have graciously expressed their willingness to continue in their respective roles, they along with the Chamber Secretariat encourage any other member that may be interested to also put forth his/her candidature. Anyone who is possibly interested in running for the position of Chair or Vice Chair is therefore kindly requested to inform the Chamber, gbellinghen@euccc.com.cn, by March 15th.
Proposed Agenda :
1. Presentation of Mr. Guo Wu Ping CBRC Audit Division (not confirmed yet).
2. Discusion on Consurmer Finance Issues (credit cards, PboC credit database access, data center location in china issue ..)
3. Proposition from the EUCTP to send CBRC's staff for internships within European Banks.
