Dear members,
The European Union Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with Shenyang Municipal Bureau of Foreign Trade & Economic Cooperation, Shenyang Foreign Experts Bureau and Shenyang Entry and Exit administration, cordially invites you to the Close Door Discussion on the Possible Measures and Concerns of Foreign Business in both English and Chinese from 16:00 to 17:00, 16th April, 2018 at the 7th floor Meeting Room of Shenyang Municipal Bureau of Foreign Trade & Economic Cooperation.
Please be noted: if you have any questions on this topic, you can send them to Ms. Marine Chen before 14th April (mchen@europeanchamber.com.cn). We will give the questions to the speaker and then he will answer your questions thoroughly.
We’ve all heard about the changes and point system that the Chinese government will be adding to the Visa process and Visa types us expats can get, but what exactly those changes will be we have really yet to see. During the event, we’ve got the exact information here on changes to Visas, helping you to clearly see where you stand.
As Shenyang is going through a difficult transition period to transform itself into a dynamic,
innovation-driven region that can attract investment and talent. Shenyang Chapter would like to advocate Shenyang government to take further steps to improve its own governance, open up the local economy to participation from foreign-invested enterprises (FIEs), improve living conditions in the city and improve Shenyang's international reputation. Thus, Shenyang Government and EUCCC established a constructive dialogue mechanism to address the issues.
Shenyang Position Paper 2017/2018 addresses this point:
2. Improve Human Resources
2.1 Develop More Incentives that will Help Companies to Attract and Retain Talent, and Invest in
Training for Emerging Industries and Services
2.2 Launch a Visa Pilot Programme Focused on Removing Unnecessary Restrictions on Hiring
Foreign Talent
2.3 Optimise Local Options for International Education by Improving the Visa Situation for Foreign
Teachers and by Contributing to the Development of International Schools in Shenyang
From our survey among members, many are eager to have an event on the newest reforms of the visa policy and a close door discussion on the possible measures and concerns of foreign business, so that the measures and achievements of the Shenyang Government can be updated in time and consultation can be made to improve future reforms. This is the very first open Quarterly Dialogue between EUCCC Shenyang Chapter members and the Shenyang Government.
We are looking forward to your input!
