During the last G20 summit held in Hangzhou, experts have qualified the state of our global economy as a “slow growth trap” and key topics such as climate and innovation were discussed. Over the years, CSR has become a key management issue worldwide, an increasingly debated topic in China. Many corporations have been trying to determine what they can do and should do to contribute to the sustainability of economics, social and ecological environment in which they operate. The dramatic changes of global climate, industrial and technological innovations, and social needs offer opportunities to rethink our profit-oriented business practices and their side effects on the global society and economic system.
The exercise of CSR has become an internal driving force that helps executives to deliver better insights for tackling corporate and developmental challenges. In the context of the sustainability imperatives promulgated by China and in light of the forthcoming European Chamber CSR award in China, scheduled on November 25, 2016, we will debate on perspectives offered by "CSR, shared value creation and innovation in China".
