About Automotive Roundtable Series
The “Automotive Roundtable Series” features a number of selected roundtable events, which aim to connect the industry, exchange ideas and discuss business opportunities and challenges in China. The Roundtables are conveniently held outside the chamber and coordinated primarily by G-I-Events. As the Strategic Partner to G-I-Events, chamber members will enjoy reserved speaking slots for presentation and panel discussion for the selected roundtables.

August Automotive Roundtable in Beijing:
Future Mobility in China, August 16
When thinking of Future Mobility in China, different scenarios are possible. Certainly the development of new energy vehicles will be a big pillar as it is not only a new trend to own an NEV but also the NEV development in China will be strongly supported by Chinese government. On the other side, with the public transportation more accessible and convenient, while new mobility services and solutions like car sharing and car leasing are more acceptable to the consumers, car sharing/leasing are also interesting options for the transportation. August Automotive Roundtable will feature experts not only from the car manufacturers but also related service providers and research institutions to discuss how future mobility in China could look like.

By Dr. Dandan Wang, Head of Beijing Office, Spiegel Institut Mannheim
Dr. Dandan Wang has eight years of market research experience focusing on customer experience and usability in automotive and automobile industry. Dr.Dandan Wang has been involved in many international research projects in relation to the development of new energy vehicle and related infrastructure, autonomous driving, as well as developing trend of transportation methods.

Moderator: Mr. Jörg Höhn, Managing Director, German Centre for Industry and Trade Beijing
Jörg Höhn, the Managing Director of the German Centre Beijing, is a proven expert in Chinese markets and culture. Between October 2006 and March 2010, he held the position of Business Development Manager at the German Centre Beijing, advising German companies in their efforts to establish their market activities in China. In spring 2010, he joined the Embassy of Luxembourg in Beijing as Economic Counsellor until he assumed the position as the Managing Director of the German Centre Beijing in September 2011. Mr. Höhn was born in Moers in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. He studied at the University of St. Gallen and the College of Europe in Natolin/Warsaw, Poland and additionally spending one year at the Beijing Foreign Studies University holding a post-graduate Scholarship. In April 2016 Mr. Höhn was elected into the Board of Directors of the German Chamber of Commerce North China.

Dr. Thomas Meurers, General Manager, German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) China
Since January 2016, Dr.Thomas Meurers leads the ‘VDA Office China’. Dr. Meurers started his industrial career in 2003 at Continental and stayed with the company for 13 years. In the area of engineering, he held several management positions. From 2009 to 2012, he was in China as R&D director in Shanghai. Afterwards his position was section head in Germany.
Mr. Xuan Zhou, Director of Planning and Development, DEKRA Greater China
Xuan Zhou is an expert with 15 years’ experience for the road safety at DEKRA. In the past few years he has been responsible for Road Safety Analysis and Accident Research. One of his important projects is DEKRA Vision Zero (www.dekra-vision-zero.com). It’s a marketing campaign for the road safety of DEKRA. In 2012 Xuan Zhou registered with his colleague Walter Niewoehner a new patent for Collision Protection Process & Collision Avoidance System.
Now Xuan Zhou strongly engages in the impact analysis of technology, safety development and the Chinese political reform for the TIC-Market (Testing, Inspection and Certification). He takes over as Director of Planning and Development at DEKRA East Asia from April 2015.
Xuan Zhou grew up in Beijing and lived in Stuttgart. He speaks three languages. He wishes to develop the safer world in everywhere, which is in his priority vision.
