Our ongoing survey reveals that more than 50% of business leaders don’t think they have a winning strategy and 90% feel that they are missing major opportunities. Many organizations are overloaded, pursuing market trends and divergent opportunities. And even when they identify their winning strategy, they may not have the capabilities to support it.

Paul Leinwand is a thought leader on strategy, growth, and capability building for Strategy&, PwC's strategy consulting group.
Based in Chicago, his focus area is advising clients on the topic of strategy, growth, and capability building, with a focus on the consumer product and retail sectors.
He is the co-author of three books, The Essential Advantage: How to Win with a Capabilities-Driven Strategy (Harvard Business Review Press, 2010), Cut Costs and Grow Stronger (Harvard Business Review Press, 2009), as well as several articles in the Harvard Business Review and the strategy+businesss magazine.

Mr. Leinwand earned an MBA with Distinction from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Washington University. He also teaches at Kellogg as an Adjunct Professor of Strategy.
