One of the major amendments in China’s new Food Safety Law is to invite industry associations to play a bigger role. In this regard, industry associations work closely with relevant government authorities to identify potential risks and establish industry standards. China Chain Store & Franchise Association (CCFA) is a membership-based organization representing retailing & franchise industry in China under the management of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of State Council. In this meeting, we are delighted to host Mr. Chu Dong, Deputy Secretary General of CCFA, to present 2015-2016 Compliance Operation and Industry Standards of China’s Retail Industry. Mr. Chu will present the audience the CCFA’s recent work - “Troubleshooting Action”, a project that aims to identify potential risks and improve management capacity of food safety in local supermarkets with emphases on supply chain management, technical standard making on imported food to domestic supermarket, standard of fast customs clearance and policy making on retailor-supplier relations. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.
