The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the joint working group meeting on Overcapacity? Undercapacity? Understand China's Logistics Market in the Economic "New Normal" from 14:00-16:00 on Tuesday November 17th, 2015 in European Chamber Beijing Office amd Shanghai Office via a video conference system.
The economic "New Normal" has cast uncertainty on China's logistics industry, which has been expanding robustly in the past decade. Debate on the capacity and development of logistics industry has been heard. Will the industry suffer from shrinking demands in the economic downturn or will it continue to thrive thanks to the emergence of new business models such as E-commerce? The Investment Promotion Report of China's Logistics Industry 2014/2015 released by Deloitte recently may help us better answer the questions. The research was jointly carried out by Deloitte, the Investment Promotion Agency of MOFCOM and Development Research Center of the State Post Bureau, which gives in-depth analysis and prospect of the logistics industry in China.
The European Chamber is pleased to invite Mr. Tianbing Zhang from Deloitte to explore these questions with us. Mr. Zhang is currently partner of Deloitte Consulting and was personally involved in the research of the report. Based on the Deloitte’s report, he will be sharing with us his insights on the current environment of logistics industry and the outlook for future development and investment.
Speaker’s biography:
Mr. Tianbing Zhang is currently partner of Deloitte Consulting, responsible for strategy and operations consulting for Industrial Goods sector and the managing partner for the Operations service line. Mr. Zhang has 20 years of industry and consulting experiences. His major consulting expertise include: corporate strategy and organization design, M&A, supply chain management, risk management and internal control and government economic development planning.
Prior to joining Deloitte, Mr. Zhang was the Vice President and Partner of A. T. Kearney and the founder and director of A. T. Kearney China Research Center. He was also a founding member of Accenture's North Asia Supply Chain Service Line. In his earlier career, Mr. Zhang has also worked for the world's renowned multinational company ABB and leading professional service firms such as Ernst & Young and Accenture.
Mr. Zhang is a frequently invited speaker and writer for leading business media in China like CBN, HBR China, Sina Finance and quoted broadly in international media such as Bloomberg, New York Times, Business Week on China issues. He is an external adviser to the Business Review magazine.
Mr. Zhang has acquired his MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management and was selected for an international exchange program at the Graduate School of Business, Chicago University.
