SAMR Meeting on the Revision of the Administrative Measures of the Regulation of Food Labelling

On 8th May, European Chamber representative was invited to join a meeting on the revision of the Administrative Measures of the Regulation of Food Labelling organised by the State Administration of Market Regulation (SAMR). At the meeting, participants discussed the labelling requirements on shelf life, imported products and infant formula as well as claims for food for population with special dietary needs. It was agreed that it is important to protect consumers’ health and their right to be informed, meanwhile, it shall not increase a huge economic burden for the business, especially during the outbreak of the COVID-19. The SMAR thanked all participants for their inputs and suggestions on the revision and agreed to revise the draft accordingly.
