On 27th September, 2017, the State Council approved the Comprehensive Plan on Beijing City (2016 – 2035), which will influence the investment strategies and relocation of various FIEs, particularly for the industries with production, manufacturing and construction. To better understand this plan and the impact thereof, the chamber will invite Mr. Shen Chi, Deputy Director General, China Centre of Urban Development of NDRC (沈迟先生,发改委中国城市和小城镇改革发展中心副主任) to interpret the plan and provide insights on the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Integration, followed by the roundtable discussion with our members.

During this meeting, the Petrochemicals, Chemicals and Refining WG has had a dialogue with Mr Geert Dancet, Executive Director of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). Likewise, the working group will introduce its activities and publications, including the Position Paper 2017/2018 currently under preparation to Mr Dancet.
The working group has held a discussion on ECHA and EU’s chemicals legislations and ECHA’s enhanced dissemination of information on chemicals. Additionally, Mr Dancet has debriefed our members on ECHA visit to China.
Meeting with MEP on Pollutants Discharge Permit System
Through two months’ coordination with the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP), the chamber will invite Ms. Tong Li, Deputy Director of MEP’s Department of Pollutants Discharge Permit, who is in charge of standards and implementation of China’s pollutants discharge permit policy, to interpret relevant policies and regulations and introduce the status quos of implementation along with future plans, followed by the roundtable discussion with our members.
