Meeting with CCUD under NDRC on Comprehensive Plan on Beijing City and Updates on Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Integration

Provided that the State Council approved the Comprehensive Plan on Beijing City (2016-2035) (the Plan) on 27th September 2017, the Chamber was pleased to invite Mr Shen Chi, Deputy Director General of China Centre for Urban Development (CCUD) under National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) to interpret this plan and provide updates on Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integrated development, followed by a Q&A session with members.

Mr Shen Chi addressed 15 aspects of the Plan, including four centres, three periodical goals for the end of 2020, 2035 and 2050, urban space layout, three redlines, comprehensive coordination of production, living and ecological space, relocation of non-capital functions, old towns, balance between the north and the south, urban-rural integration, rail traffic, housing, environmental protection, fundamental public services, subsidiary administrative centre of Beijing, and the development of Xiong An new area.

This meeting concluded with Mr Javier Lopez, Chamber National Chair of Construction Working Group, presenting the European Chamber Position Paper 2017/2018 to Mr Shen, along with the wish of more cooperation opportunities and communication between the Chamber and CCUD.
