Participation in the Founding Conference of CCCME Green and Low-Carbon International Cooperation Committee
On 27th October, National Chair of Energy Working Group was invited by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME) to participate and deliver a speech at the Founding Conference of CCCME Green and Low-Carbon International Cooperation Committee.
Joint WG Meeting: Beijing Hydrogen Industry Development | 北京市氢能产业发展座谈会
On 22nd October, the European Chamber Energy Working Group and Quality and Safety Services Sub-working Group invited representatives from the Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, Daxing District, Fangshan District and Changping District Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, as well as China Z-park Hydrogen &Fuel Cell Industry Alliance, to discuss on how to jointly promote the development of hydrogen industry in Beijing and nationwide from different perspectives, e.g. policy system, manufacturing, application and third-party inspection.

Based on the successful experience of international training from the past, the Chinese Academy of Social sciences (CASS) held the 4th International Seminar on Belt and Road Initiative with Low-carbon Energy during the period between October 18th and 27th in 2021, which is an annually program of CASS. The seminar invited participants from countries along BRI and focused on topics such as Chinese economy, international energy cooperation, global energy governance, carbon neutralizing and renewable energy. The main contents included lectures and discussion, visiting related NGOs, companies and local governments.

The European Chamber was represented by the Energy WG Vice Chair in the Sino-Europe Net-Zero Carbon Emissions Summit Forum hosted in Shanghai by TUV Rheinland, a member company involved in the Energy and Environment Working Groups. The keynote speech focused on potential areas of collaboration for EU-China in this sector as well as the current challenges and developments in wind energy, hydrogen and expectations in the lead up to COP26. Other keynote speakers included Qimin Chai, Director of Strategic Planning at the National Centre for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation (NCSC) and Dr Jin Li, General Manager of Carbon Neutral Operation Centre-Shanghai Environment and Energy Exchange.

Both sides introduced themselves, exchanged views on China-Europe cooperation in offshore wind power, and discussed the organisation, draft agenda and other details of the China-Europe Offshore Wind Power Cooperation Forum in mid-November, which will take place in Yancheng (Jiangsu).
