Lunch Meeting with H.E. Frans Timmermans, executive vice president of the European Commission

On 4th July, H.E. Jorge Toledo, ambassador of the European Union (EU) to China, hosted a working lunch to welcome H.E. Frans Timmermans, executive vice president (EVP) of the European Commission, who leads the Commission’s work on the European Green Deal. Gianni Di Giovanni, States' Representative of the European Chamber Executive Committee, attended the working lunch and presented issues experienced by European companies in energy, environment and carbon market sectors, along with two of the Chamber’s reports: Carbon Neutrality: The Role of European Companies in China’s Race to 2060 and European Business in China Business Confidence Survey 2023, which identify areas in which EU-China cooperation can be deepened so that China can frontload the technologies it needs to accelerate its carbon neutrality drive.
